20/08/2010
We are pleased to announce that we are finalists in the Retail Systems 2010 Awards for the category best use of technology in the hospitality and leisure sector.
The Protouch, XN Leisure and Aberdeen Sports Village Leisure Centre joint entry is shortlisted for its innovative ‘Virtual Receptionist’ kiosk solution that automated the whole booking, ticketing and payment process for Aberdeen Sports Village.
The Awards look to recognise excellence and innovation in the field of information technology, with the primary criteria for judging being the delivery of significant business benefits, innovation and originality of application, ROI and strong project management.

Tom Quarry comments, “Our ‘Virtual Receptionist’ solution has propelled Aberdeen Sports Village to the very front of the technological, self service arena within the Leisure industry with 80% of Aberdeen Sports Village members using it as opposed to the reception desk.
Not only has it leveraged Aberdeen Sports Village resources by turning receptionist staff into Customer Service Ambassadors and giving them more quality time with the customers, it has also greatly enhanced customer experience by increasing the speed of transactions and efficiency with which customers can now check in and book and has taken away the need to queue.“
A previous winner at the Retail Systems 2010 Awards, Protouch scooped the best use of technology in the hospitality and leisure sector award at the 2009 awards and the EPoS innovation of the year award in 2008.
We look forward to attending the 2010 awards ceremony as a leader our field at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel London on 28 October 2010.
