Self-Service Welcome Centres Installed In New York City Area Terminals

11/01/2012

Some self-service welcome centres have been installed within the arrival areas of New York City terminals.

JFK, LaGuardia and Newark Airports have had 15 welcome centres inaugurated that feature self-service touch screen technology and ATM machines. And a further 10 digital signage platform kiosks have been deployed at all AirTrain Stations at JFK International Airport.

According to a company announcement, the welcome centres include 150 digital signage displays as well as 60 self-service kiosks that offer hotel, car rental and ground transportation services.

Thirty touch screen units will allow access to the Port Authority website to offer information on flight tracking, hotels, baggage claim, ground transportation, car rental companies and many other services.

Ground Transportation Information Counters will permit Port Authority customer care representatives to book ground transportation services for arriving passengers as well as help passengers use the technology.

The centres were designed, manufactured and installed by Parabit Systems.
