Birmingham Airport: One Year On

Birmingham airport deployed our express lane kiosks almost one year ago and to this day they are successfully improving customer’s experience and staff efficiency. The airport installed six of Protouch’s kiosks to introduce an express lane for the nine million passengers that travel through the airport every day. Consumers can take advantage of the premium lane and access priority processing’ passing through security much quicker for only £3 per person. They give passengers the choice to be processed as normal or with precedence, therefore giving them the power of control. And after successfully working at the site for one year, the technology has stood the test of time. Our Xen X6 kiosks were chosen for the new venture and they featured;

  The express lane kiosks are expected to work for the next 7-10 years and this is an important aspect to be taken into account when picking a kiosk provider. Birmingham Airport is introducing an express lane for its passengers using our kiosks!

Protouch Kiosks Hit The Slopes With Nissan

We are very excited to announce that this winter our kiosks are part of a cool promotion by Nissan that gives skiers the chance to be the first on the slopes at top ski resorts.

The kiosks are part of the motor company’s latest campaign on their All-Mode technology that gives Nissan car models extreme grip on the road.

Skiers at four European ski resorts in Verbier, Avoriaz, Formigal, and Livigno will be the first to tear up the mountainside and experience the extreme grip sensation on the slopes.

Each kiosk provides a fast-track ski pass that entitles skiers to book exclusive early sessions and secure pole position on untouched tracks.

The kiosks register skiers for the morning sessions and print out their passes.

While skiers are enjoying skiing on virgin snow throughout the 2011 season, our kiosks are enduring all-weather types from clear sunny skies to freezing blizzard and conditions.

Matalan’s New Store opts for Multi-channel Xen X4 Kiosk

Matalan, the leading clothing and home ware retailer, has picked our self-service Xen X4 EPoS kiosks to use in its' new pilot multi-channel retailing in-store.  

The pilot is being deployed in Matalan’s new High Wycombe store and will provide an additional means for customers to purchase products and services across the entire Matalan range.   

They were looking to provide in-store access to their entire product range including the extended lines that can only be found online.  

By incorporating our transactional kiosks they are able to display products that cannot currently be found in-store. In turn the kiosks also accommodate customers without internet access and enhance the shopping experience of customers who come to the store.   

As a result, it will allow Matalan to drive incremental revenues in-store by increasing average basket size and cross/up selling.  

Ross Williams, Ecommerce Trading Manager, said: “We are always looking to improve our customer’s shopping experience, by giving in store shoppers the option to buy from our online range, they benefit by getting new products sooner, and also by being able to select from our full range.

“We recognise a shift in our customers shopping behaviour, and are looking to use technology to service customer requirements however they wish to engage with us.”

The Xen X4 kiosks feature a keyboard and 80mm receipt printers running a secure browser version of their website. Customers simply browse the website as they would at home then add their desired items to basket and proceed to check out where they can pay and arrange in-store collection or delivery.  

The kiosks were launched at the store opening yesterday, on November 18th.
